Midnight-dark with a deep crimson edge, Alma ’18 is a triumph of aromatic wild strawberry, black cherry, currants, marzipan, sage and sandalwood. The palate’s ripe, sustained, structure reveals a parade of spice and brooding, soft, dark, berry fruits and rich savoury tannins - set to unfurl with time. Cherry, black plum, cinnamon and smoke, all glide across a palate which is wonderfully deep-set. Finely-dressed for its debut, the premiere release of Alma ’18 is modern, majestic, and enchanting in its detail.

Premium hand-harvested fruit from the famed Moutere Clays were selected for this Single Vineyard Pinot Noir. A very fine and elegant wine, full of savoury fruit and spice.

Desert Heart is one of New Zealand’s distinguished boutique vineyards on the iconic Felton Rd, Bannockburn, Central Otago. Desert Heart’s award winning wines are grown on our own Felton Road Vineyards, which display the bright fruit characteristics of classical Pinot Noir. The name Desert Heart was chosen to pay tribute to the land, because Pinot Noir, more than any other grape reflects where it is grown, and to the historical reference to the name of Bannockburn, “Heart of the Desert”, from the gold rush era and due to its atypical climatic conditions.

Sweetly fruited and immediately appealing, the wine shows dark plum, blueberry, floral, almond, and subtle spice aromas on the nose, leading to a beautifully weighted palate that is succulent and supple.

This elegant fruit-forward pinot has rich plum and cherry characteristics dominating the nose with hints of wild raspberry coming through underneath. A lovely light earthiness ties these aromas all together and continues onto the palate along with subtle black pepper spice and wood shavings. This is a mid-weight Pinot with well-integrated tannins carrying through to an extended finish.

This 2015 pinot noir is rich yet elegant. Dark berry characters are enhanced by delicate oak providing great depth of flavour. Enjoy now or after careful cellaring for five years plus. Worthy of your best lamb or venison dish.
