Jean Caillard started La Martiniquaise in 1934 with the primary purpose of producing and exporting rum. Since 1946, the company has greatly expanded its product line by adding various alcoholic beverages to the mix. La Martiniquaise, a well-known French firm, founded Glen Turner in 1981 to produce Scotch whisky. In the little town of Bathgate, there is whisky spillage, as well as warehouses where maturing spirits are stored. It is planned to expand production capacity and establish a new facility in the future, which will be equipped with the most up-to-date equipment and technology for whisky manufacturing. In France, Glen Turner is number one amongst malt drinks.
